File - Group Guidelines

Thanks so much to everyone for posting, sharing, and helping each other. This group rocks!

Computerscrapping.com Guidelines:
1. When posting layouts (which you are encouraged to do!) put LO in your subject with a name so those viewing messages at the group site can easily locate layouts to check out.
2. Share what programs you used and how much is computer-generated (CG),
all, journaling, titles, etc. Share any credits such as embellishments and fonts.
3. Keep the email file size under 150K, considering those of us on dial-up with slow
connections and small email accounts. If you're unsure how to resize the file for viewing, just ask. Someone here probably has your program and/or your scanner and will be glad to help. In general, reduce your files to 72 ppi resolution and 6" high. That fills a screen and usually allows the journaling to be read.
4. If you have pages posted on a website, please send a link as well. Yahoo does not store attachments, so those on digest or no mail will not be able to view your pages if you don't.
5. You can also post layouts in folders in the Files section:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/computerscrapping/files/
6. You can post your photos in the Photos section so we can put a face with your name (optional of course):
http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/computerscrapping/lst
7. You can post your favorite links to sites, fonts, programs, tips, tutorials, etc in the Links section (no ads please):
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/computerscrapping/links
8. ***Only ADS related specifically to computer scrapping are welcome, ONLY ON FRIDAYS (US, EST) AND ONLY WITH AD in the subject line. These emails must be under 150k. No other ads, solicitations, flaming, or mean comments of any kind allowed.
9. You may not blatenly advertise for other designers by putting a preview to the kit you used in your email, put the name of the designer and kit name in your email subject line, or any other form of advertising not specifically mentioned here. Please feel free to credit the designers work that you used but that may only be done by giving the designers name, kit name, and link to the kit in the body of your email only.
10. FREEBIES- The sharing of freebies is permitted but please keep in mind that the sole purpose of this group is for sharing layouts and not freebies. If it becomes apparent that a person is using this group to promote their freebies then they will be limited on what can be shared. As a general rule, freebies should be limited to 1 or 2 per week on days other than Fridays.
10. Members on daily digest replying to a message, please change the subject line to the topic.
11. Please make sure to delete all but a line or two of the message you are replying to. The long repeated messages not only make for large messages, but also make them difficult to read for those on digest.
12. No cross posting allowed (sending to many groups at once). If you need to send a message to all lists, please copy and paste your message into new messages for each list. This will alleviate problems with responses coming to our list from other lists or the confusion for those who are not subbed to the other lists and are unable to respond to those lists. Or if it's possible with your email program, you can just BCC: all the groups so that no one can see the addresses.
13. Please send your "that's a freaking awesome layout" to the person privately. Use reply to sender instead of reply all.
14. If you ask how something is done though, please send to the list so we can all benefit from the answer. Make sure to include the list in any technique, program, idea, whatever questions, so we can all help and/or learn.
15. If you don't want the huge amount of emails in your inbox, please change your settings to daily digest to receive ~25 at once or go no mail and read them at the site. That way you can scan the subjects and only read what interests you. Change settings here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/computerscrapping
16. Most importantly, HAVE FUN! No exceptions made on this one!!

We're sticking to the topic of computer scrapping, so let's only share layouts done on the computer (all or just a part is fine). There are very few groups for computer scrappers and about a gazillion groups for sharing hand scrapped layouts, so we don't need to redo that here. We highly recommend the Layouts group, as there are over 4,000 members and it's whole purpose is sharing layouts. Talk about ideas! You can find it here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Layouts/
Ditto with the ads. Plenty of groups allow ads for auctions, supplies, consultants, etc, so again, they're not needed here. Let's stick to computer scrapping and have fun!
Don't worry, any issues with our guidelines will be handled off list and in a very nice manner, because why bother everyone with it and why be a meanie??

Thanks everyone!

[computer-jobs] File - subscription

Please direct all admin type queries to:

computer-jobs-owner@yahoogroups.com

where one of the moderators can help you as soon as they log in to one of their
various computers.

The list is set so that replies go directly to the employer / person concerned,
because we (moderators) had lots of replies to job applications at our personal
addresses & this delayed some peoples applications / queries for jobs.

To subscribe to this group (invite others to join)

They can log-in with a Yahoo! ID to

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/computer-jobs/join

Via e-mail:

Ask them to send a blank (it wont get read by any live person) email to
computer-jobs-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

They'll get an automated reply from the system, which they just reply to. It
has an encrypted email address, which verifies the person wanted to join.

Unsubscribing, is done the same way - at the above website (for those with
Yahoo ID's & registered online).

Or, send a blank e-mail to:

computer-jobs-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

& confirm, by replying to the automated e-mail.

Also, we have:

computer-jobs-normal@yahoogroups.com
computer-jobs-digest@yahoogroups.com and
computer-jobs-nomail@yahoogroups.com

The 'normal' version sets it so you receive each message one at a time, as they
are processed by the server.

The 'digest' mode combines all the messages in one day (24 hour period) into one
email, this saves about 30-40% email space on receiving each e-mail seperately
(although we've not tested it out exactly, just a guess).

If you want to read them on-line only, (For those who have Yahoo! IDs)
you can send an email to the nomail option (above), & read the messages online
at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/computer-jobs/messages/

Reminder, send all admin queries to:
computer-jobs-owner@yahoogroups.com

[computer-jobs] File - General Rules...

Welcome to the computer-jobs email group.

The following is a very general guideline for the group, & will evolve
over time.

======================== READ THIS ===================================
Breaking the rules of this group, like posting home working or typing
jobs, "get rich quick" schemes or advertising your agencies services rather than SPECIFIC jobs will result in your post being deleted and your email address will be banned without further notice!!!
======================================================================

Delayed posts? If your post does not get sent to the list immediately do not post it again. The group moderators are based in different countries (New Zealand and the UK). We moderate the list at least ONCE per 24 hours.

:- This group initially was intended for employers to advertise jobs
for " computer related " industries / careers..

or for future employees in finding a job, CV preparation,
training etc.. in regards to the computer / I.T. industry..

SOME examples are :-

:- Website (intranet / Internet) Designers.
:- Graphics (Advertising areas etc.. )
:- Programmers (any language)..
:- Database management
:- Background (Technical - repair / wiring etc...)
:- IT Human Resource and Management

BUT NO FRANCHISES and NOTHING Home-based or "typing for big bucks"

If you know / can suggest any other broad computer-related industries,
not included in the above, please advise the moderator/owner on
computer-jobs-owner@yahoogroups.com for inclusion in the above list.

GENERALLY EXCLUDED areas:

:- ANY Franchise opportunities or offers to join these.
:- ANY homeworking regardless of nature
:- ANYTHING offering BIG BUCKS for peanuts, "Get Rich Quick" Schemes
:- Pure promotion of agencies / services rather providing than specific openings.
:- Promotion of other jobs groups or vacancy listings
:- ANY non-I.T. jobs

You will be removed/banned if you attempt to post messages that are (or apprear to be) within this scope.

Also: Any area not expressly stated here but considered as inappropriate by the list owner solely at his discretion.

===============

USEFUL TIP:

This is an international group, So it will be useful if, when you're advertising a job, to put your country and/or city/area, in the subject.

EG "Houston Tx USA - I.T. Manager position"

Or abreviated forms of your city name.

If you post multiple "ads" with the same subject line we may delete all after the first SO please make the subject lines DIFFERENT with your job ID number

like these, for example: http://tinyurl.com/jay7

-------------

ABUSE OF THE GROUP:

*spammers* please note: This is a spam-free zone

Just because you say "We belong to the same email group & approved by the
moderators" (or similar wording) will not mean that off-topic messages will
be approved. Repeated attempts to post unacceptable content will result in a ban, you may however be informed if a post is considered inappropriate if you have not repeatedly posted it.

Breach of Yahoo! Groups Terms of Service, etc. will be reported to your ISP/Yahoo! Groups.
