Its not actually a file I want to upload, its just when you like something on another friends status and you want to share it onto your status, I keep pressing share and get about 2 or 3 copies, however the share and cancel are still shown on the screen! What do I do?

Looks like you would need to upload the file(s) to a 3rd party source. In the research I did, it looks like you could create an account on a site like scribd (www.scribd.com). You would upload your file and then send the link to those you wanted to view it.
You might also want to avail yourself of your ISP. They might have web space to which you could upload a file.
Lots of research and learning if you do a google search "upload files facebook."
