[Simply Computers] Re: RAM usage

To turn off Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, you will need to be logged in as a user with Administrator privileges. (an "Administrator" account)

Then open Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, then Services.

Scroll down to the one you want to disable and right click it. Click Properties.

In the Properties box, there is a button to Stop it. There is also a selection box, where you can change the startup from Automatic to Manual. Set it to Manual or Disabled.

If you change your mind later, you can always come back and enable it.

As far as RAM usage, did AVG say that the program is using 2.8 GB, or 2.8 MB?

In Task Manager on my computer (right click the Taskbar on the bottom of the Windows screen and click Start Task Manager), under the Processes tab, it shows that that program is using 5,300k, which is 5.8 MB, not GB.

It had a tab to show what the cpu is doing, ram is doing, etc. It keeps showing that out of the 3gb of ram, 2.8 of it is being used by wmpnetwk.exe . When I hover over that line, it comes up with Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. I try to shut it down and it will shut down but then it starts right back up. I have no idea on how to stop this program from running. I messed around with my WMP and I can't find anything related to it. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a Dell Slim Studio. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
