[Simply Computers] Compaq Presario F700 Series Power Up Problem

 

Greetings All,

I am attempting to troubleshoot a friends
Compaq F700 Series Laptop, his original complaint was the system would not
start. My first thought was that the "brick" in the power cord had failed
but after applies a voltmeter to that it appears to be in working order.
Whether plugged in or on battery only the power light briefly ( about 1 sec
) glow blue and nothing further occurs, no spin up of disk nor any error
beeps or anything on the display. My guess is a failure of the power on
switch itself and/or the board to which it is attached. As Always thanks for
any guidance or thoughts you may have.
