I have an eMachines T6420 Win XP that fried some motherboard capacitors. I tried replacing the caps, but that didn't work out so well. I now have a replacement motherboard and power supply and hope to bring this machine back to life, since the hard drive has a lot of programs and saved files that this Win 7 refuses to recognize on my backup hard drive for the XP.
During disassembly I took a ton of pictures to be sure I had everything hooked up right. The only problem is that I missed the R\W, B\W and the G\W connections that lead from the corner of the mb up to the power switch. The color coding on the mb is no help because the colors don't match at all.
Would any of you kind folk in this forum have an old eMachines T6420 that you could take the side off of and snap a picture of the power leads and post them to me? I have contacted eMachines but they are no help. Google searches produce nothing. I can't even find a patent number on the computer to try to look up the patent schematics.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I really liked the XP and this Win 7 is about to badger me to death with all the warnings and the "You can't do that" alerts.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
