You didn't give us the whole Toshiba part number. Look on the label on the bottom of the computer. It should say Model L755 - something.

I went to the Toshiba website and chose one at random.

the model L755- S5258 has "3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 with 'Sleep and Charge' "

This allows you to charge external devices (cell phones, etc.) even when the computer is asleep.

Try a different USB port, or look up the specifications for your particular model on the Toshiba website.
