That is a good idea. I fear that just because I only heard of these things
last Christmas that does not mean that they were not for sale 10 years ago.
But it is sure worth finding out. Maybe they all burn up and there is an
exchange program.

I would first find out what the warranty period is.

These were new on the market last Christmas, right? If you have a one year
warranty, and they just came onto the market last December, there's no way
you could have owned it a year, receipt or no.

Try contacting customer service at the pandigital website (Google for it)
and see what they say.
