Re: [Simply Computers] WebRoot opinions

I was using AVG with a separate webroot program from them. It caused more problems than it was worth. Also AVG was trying to weed out the free versions of their product, which I had used for 7 or 8 years and their new version was a total disaster for me. They accomplished their goal to get rid of me. I then asked a friend who is the manager of a Geek Squad what he would recommend. I told him Norton was a product I had used 10 years ago and it was a joke and a total memory hog. He talked me into trying the New Norton Internet Security 2011. At first it was a little impressive, but as the days have gone by, it is constantly running programs in the background and slowing down everything I do. I paid nearly $100.00 at Best Buy. I know, they saw me coming, but I was in a hurry to try something new. Have they worked out the problems in the full paid version of AVG yet? Sorry for the long email...your email just set off a bundle of questions.

Subject: [Simply Computers] WebRoot opinions

I am seeing more machines come in here with Webroot installed, probaly

because they have been pushing it on TV. I have never recommended it or

used it, and I am not impressed with what I am seeing so far. It seems

to cause at least as many problems as it is supposed to prevent, sort of

like Norton. I am hesitant to take it out and tell the owner they

wasted their money, or at least it would be better spent using something

like the paid version of Malwarebytes or such.

So I am looking for feedback from any of you who have some experience

with it please.
