[Simply Computers] Cannot assign drive letter to second hard drive

 

Hi All,

I did a system recovery to factory default on an emachines ET1161-07 PC running vista Home Premium. That went well, but my second hard drive that I use to back up pictures and such does not now have a drive letter. I did go to disk management to assign it one but that option is faded out and not available. The disk does show in disk management. I forgot to disconnect the second drive from the mother board when I did the recovery. I have read that this should not be a problem though. I hope not anyway. I do have data on the second disk, so I need to be able to assign it a drive letter without reformating it.

Any help would be great.
