I reinstalled my AVG Internet Security, and everything worked but the Firewall. (Try to find something in AVG's web site.)
Anyway, I rebooted my computer, and now everything works.
I have had AVG for about 10 years, and I like it except for the jungle of information needed to find and answer to a problem.
How it became inactive is anyone's guess.
