I might want to quibble but first ask a question: Why a recommendation for 32-bit instead of 64-bit. I'm running 64-bit everything (or at least as much as possible) and finding the 64-bit really seems the better way to go. Uses ram better especially.
With respect to programs I'm not sure there are older programs that will transition more readily to 32-bit Windows than 64-bit? Might you have a source? My bias would be that if the program is that old, it might be time to look for a replacement, but that might be my preference...<g>.
