Ok i have been trying to respond to all of you but got rejected because i was not including your replys. Sorry, I was clicking the reply to group at the end of the email instead of just replying to the email. In answer to all, I changed my phone line and nothing happened. I cant hear any static in my phone line. And having to reconnect 20/30 times has got old. Thank you all for your input.

This is generally unnecessary. 56k modems will renegotiate their connection
speed while you stay connected. I haven't used windows dial up in nearly a
decade but last I remembered renegotiated speed wasn't shown in the dialup
networking dialog box, so the connection can be slower or faster than what
windows reports at any given moment.

getting a really bad connection for a few weeks. Have talked to ISP people
time after time and nothing they recommend helps. To explain a little better
what i mean!! Usually when i connect to the internet i get 50.6 kbps or
better 53.3 kbps which i need to play the games i play. Now the very best i
can get is 49.3 kbps and usually worse.Long story short, is my modem going
bad or is there something else that can be causing this problem? Thanks for
any help
