Hi,
Well, I was right that there are screws under the
rubber bumpers around the bezel -- six of them.
But I was also right that the bezel itself snaps onto the back screen cover.
For me, the good news is that I can replace the
inverter without having to take apart the
computer itself - and, by having the inverter in
hand, I can see exactly what the replacement
should look like. It turns out that the inverter
has plugs on each end and I do not have to
rethread the cables back to the motherboard.
Without knowing if it is the back light or the
inverter that's gone bad, I am going to go ahead
and order the inverter. If I'm wrong the unit
will have both a new inverter and a new bulb.
Thanks for asking.
...Bryce
