[Simply Computers] Can't delete outlook tasks

 

I can't delete completed tasks in Outlook 2003 running in XP SP3. I have tried MS's web site and the issue isn't addressed, much less answered. Somehow, I have "protected" these items but I don't know how. Every time I highlight a completed task and click delete, I get a message "can't delete this item." No other message is given. Any help?
