Ohhh.. After removing and installing the printer and other devices.
Finally I made this change to correct the USB conflict problem.
I removed one of the USB devices connected to the tower.
I replaced it with the USB card reader.
Then I hooked up this removed USB device to the USB card reader
(which has 3 USB port - as a hub)
All worked well hany dandy.
