Hi. Dorothy here. I want to thank all of you for helping me, I am still
working on some
of the suggestions.
I live in Florida and would like to suggest that Mollie check her phone
jacks. I had a
problem one time with bad dial-up, and we had a friend that worked for the
phone company. He came over and there was some corrosion in a couple of our
jacks. He replaced a couple and used a brush to get the corrosion out of
the phone jack.
Now, when I have static on any phone the first thing I do is check to see if
any of the jacks have corrosion. I use a toothbrush now and haven't had a
problem.
Dorothy
I would check your telephone junction box outside. Back when I had dial
up mine would get worse whenever it rained because the box was leaky.
You may find some old corroded wires in there.
