This is all really interesting, because I am working on a unit that the
customer, or at least his nephew, got an infection from some porn sites
(He forgot to erase the IE history), and after that he ran
SuperAntiSpyware (nice to have log reports), which I had installed a few
months ago. Well the short of the story is that his efforts left the
computer with a bunch of broken file associations. I have also been
having this residual effect in some of the units I have cleaned over the
past few months, and I always have been running SAS as one of the first
cleaning tools.
Now I am wondering if the broken file associations are the result of the
spyware removal, which I assumed, or if they are because of this problem
with SAS. AT any rate, for the time being I am going to avoid running
SAS as one of my primary cleaning tools and watch for any broken file
associations from soyware removal using other tools.
