Re: [Simply Computers] Device Manager

Try this to identify the device.

Open Device Manager

Select the "Unknown device" and right click and select properties.

Click the "Details" tab

In the Value box you may see a line like "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2805&SUBSYS_80862805&REV_1000"

The number after "VEN" is the vendor number and the number after "Dev" is the product number.

Now go to this site and enter those numbers.

Subject: [Simply Computers] Device Manager

I am using Win7. Under device manager > other devices, I have a device that is listed as unknown with the yellow triangle. I have tried deleting this and restarting the computer but it is "reinstalled" again with the same message of "unknown".

I have tried to look for an updated driver in device manager but no luck. The computer doesn't seem to have a problem and is working fine so I have no clue what this unknown device is supposed to do.

I am on a home network and I suspect it might be a printer but the two I have work fine with this "other device" not working.

Any suggestions as to resolving this issue?

Leona
