Did you perhaps mean an external MONITOR?
If so, laptops can be set to display to either the internal, an external or both.
This is often selected by pressing a couple of keys on the keyboard.
Look carefull at the numbered keys along the top .... see if they also have small icons on them. There should be one that has icons of two monitors.
There should also be a key labeled "Fn" somewhere on the keyboard, maybe down near the bottom left?
Holding down Fn and then pressing the monitor key should cycle between internal, external and both.
You might also look in Setup (you should see a message on bootup what key to press) to see how the laptop video is setup.
Note: laptops with dual monitor functions normally default to displaying to the built-in monitor when only one is present, but who knows?
