Hi Joan and Google Jer,
I think the MiFi that Joan is thinking of is the TruConnect MiFi. I recently
ordered it, and set it up, but haven't really used it much yet. I switched
to it from the Verizon MiFi because TruConnect has a much cheaper monthly
fee, and charges only for what you use. I have an iPod which can connect to
the Internet via WiFi. I am planning on using the MiFi to allow me to
connect the iPod wherever and whenever I want, and not have to wait to get
to a place with wireless. I am also going to use the MiFi to connect up to 5
laptops to the Internet in computer classes that I offer in locations that
don't have enough computers with Internet access. I will post back when I
have more observations about the TruConnect service to share.
Ellen

Look into MiFi that can attach up to 5 devices. Verizon comes to mine, but
not that long ago another choice came up for less. I know the Verizon can be
pay as you go, too.

this is not true at all. I have a smart phone that can go on wifi without
having a 3G connection at all. I think they are either just telling you
this so that you will keep your sim with credit, or the sales person has no
idea what they are talking about.
