[Simply Computers] Re: Windows Security Alert icon

 

Hi

The website that Walt sent a link to is a very good one, so be sure to read through it.

The trouble with doing a System Restore is that malware often infects the System Restore points, so doing a Restore just causes your computer to be re-infected.

We usually recommend turning OFF System Restore (which deletes all the old restore points), cleaning out any infection and fixing whatever problems are keeping you from updating the computer, and then when everything is clean, turning System Restore back on.
