I think you need to find a new pc repair person.
The only way to be sure you've gotten rid of a virus is to reinstall the operating system. In your case, because you've be so mishandled by the computer repair store one can't be sure of the machine's status at this point.

Thanks, where is revo installer?
I did go into microsoft yesterday and reset internet explorer. I also upgraded to internet explorer 9!
It does appear there has been a hacker on the system. My partner has malwarebytes and superantispyware free edition also AVG antivirus. What else can be done as it doesn't seem to have completely gone away, it was hacked in June, PC world didn't seem to have done anything!
Many thanks
Liz

In Windows 7 your partner need only delete the device in devices and
printers. You can also use Revo Uninstaller if for some reason the Windows
uninstall doesn't go well.
Let us know how it goes.

My partners printer seems OK now, it does print. However my partner appears
to have lost the CD for it, now he has two scanners of Epson as he had a
different Epson printer previously. How do you take one of them off if you
haven't got the disc!
He has also now heard from Knowhow at P C World, they said the system should
have been reset, he had hackers in his computer a few months ago, thought PC
World would have reset the system, they seem to think it may have stopped
the problems he has been having.
We noticed last night that there were lots of critical errors, a load of
errors came up as soon as we came out after ITV Player.
Thanks for your help.
I look forward to your comments.
Many thanks
Liz
