RE: [Simply Computers] Re: Windows Security Alert icon

I would suggest the following:

Uninstall and reinstall the anti-virus software. See if, after
reinstallation, it scans and updates.

I didn't see anything about what browser you're using but if it's IE I would
reset it and disable add-ons. See if you notice a difference. If it's not IE
let us know.

I think you have an infection. You might need to be prepared to reinstall
your operating system. That's really the only tried and true way to know
you're completely safe particularly if you use the internet for secure
transactions such as shopping and banking.

I have so many problems I don't know where to begin.

1. I can't get all of the lights in the Windows Security Center to stay
green. Every thing is green except for malware. Also, I'm getting
conflicting messages. Under "Virus Protection" it says that Webroot virus
protection with Spy Sweeper is turned off. Just below that, under Spyware
and Other Protection, it says that Webroot and Windows Defender is turned
on.

I can run scans, but they aren't current. I can't do updates now.

2. When I log out of my AT&T mail, and my Yahoo Mail, in the address bar, I
see a lot of letters and numbers, and the words "unauthenticated ERROR." I
can't read the whole thing, because it only stays on for a brief second.

Just to the left of the address bar is a little square. Inside the square
is a red circle with a red diagonal line running through it. What does this
mean?

I've run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Eusing Registry Cleaner Neither one
has worked.

What do I do now?

Thanks,
RR
