I'm having issues with my multi-media pc that connects directly to my tv via hdmi. Specs on my computer are:
PHENOM II X4 840 Boxed Processor quad core
8 gig Ram
64 Bit Windows 7 ultimate
Ati 5400 I gig Video with HDMI out
When I stream some hi-def files or mkv files 1080p or 780p after about an hour and a half, my sound starts breaking up very badly.
The thing is when I play directly from my blue ray or my tv source, this doesn't happen. I have updated all drivers. My hdmi is of course carrying my sound and video. I even added an extra side case fan thinking perhaps the video card was overheating. That didn't seem to help. I just built this computer recently so I'm trying to figure out if it's the computer or my receiver. I upgraded my hdmi cables to the more current high speed usb cables. This didn't seem to help. Last night when it happened, I shut off my receiver and turned on the tv speaker and it sounded fine. After about one minute, I turned the receiver back on and the sound was fine. I am hoping someone here has a computer set up that streams like mine and perhaps can offer some advice. At this point, I'm stumped.
I would appreciate any advice.
