Position:

The Datacenter Platform organization is responsible for vSphere, our Core Virtualization Infrastructure, and Solutions for Enterprise Virtualization.
We are seeking a senior software engineer to be a part of our core Graphics group. You must have a proven track record for delivering high quality, well-architected software products and have domain expertise in 3D graphics. The Core Graphics group is part of our Datacenter Platform R&D team, responsible for the vSphere and vCenter suite of products.

Performance Objectives:
• Design and development of VMware's device virtualization infrastructure
• Analyze and re-architect performance critical sections of the device virtualization code
• Investigate and fix problems found in the device subsystem
• Create advanced tools for the end user and developer that leverage the advantages of working inside a VM

Competencies/Leadership Functions:
• BSCS with 5+ years experience in systems level development
• Should be proficient in the C programming language
• Must have Linux, Windows, and/or Mac OS systems experience
• Ability to design software systems
• Strong debugging and performance analysis
• Ability to organize and work on several tasks at once
• Must have experience with graphics API's (OpenGL, DirectX, X11, GDI)
• Extensive knowledge of graphics device drivers, and graphics algorithms

Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies
