Re: [Simply Computers] Bad dial up connection

Al,

You may be right about the phone lines being the problem.

Any electrical noise on the line can interfere with the connection.

One test I use is to lift the receiver on a telephone that is on the same line, press one of the dial keys once (which kills the dial tone for a few seconds) and just listen.

If I hear any clicks, pops, whines, etc. I call the phone company and report it to them. They'll check it out.

Re: [Simply Computers] SQL server 2008 problems

I tried.

I sent Ardell three responses to his question ... I guess none of them were helpful.

[Simply Computers] Re: Google Update vs Online Armor

I have not yet heard of a Google update that is dangerous, provided it is actually coming from Google, not something posing as such.

Does Armor give any indication from what website the update is coming?

You might wish to check the Support section of the Armor website to see if there is any info on this ... I'm sure you're not the first to ask this question!

Re: [Simply Computers] Destroy Data

XP and Vista will do it during the install, also.

I think you may have just misunderstood what "John Peters" was trying to say.

Under all three, if the install routine finds that there are no partitions on the drive, just free space, you are given the opportunity to Create a Partition, (more than one, if you like) Format it and then install Windows.

Re: [Simply Computers] Can't remove Microsoft security essentials

Hello

You might try a System Restore back to a time before you had this problem.

You can also remove Microsoft updates.

Tell us which version of Windows you are running if you'd like more specific help.
