[Simply Computers] Pre-inst Windows now says it's an invalid copy

 

I have a Gateway running Windows Vista.  I've been hesitant to upgrade my original version of Windows because I was afraid of errors.  I now find that some Windows programs will not open and Windows only help suggest that my version of Windows is not valid.  I certainly thought that the installed version of Windows was valid when I purchased it.  Does anyone know how I can correct this or if this is possibly a symptom of another problem?
