Ardell,
Is there a way to prevent one's address book from being hijacked? Is there a
program or setting to do this?

The horse is out of the barn. Not much can be done about the hijacked Addy
book, except change the email address and use a better password to protect
the account.
As to your email, delete, delete, delete. If you email client has some
filters, you can probably "teach" it how to do that for you, but my
experience has been it is simpler to just delete them as they come in.
Or ignore them all together. DO NOT click on any of the embedded links.
They may be much worse than a simple link to a Viagra sales page.
