[Simply Computers] New XP Pro installation high CPU load

 

Hello,

I have further information relating to my old problem with high cpu
usage in
process explorer on one XP install but another install is working fine.

I have installed a new installation of Windows XP Pro SP3 on the same
Hard drive
that had problems before. The new install has the same problems with
high CPU
usage. Thus it cannot be a windows/software issue with the other install
I had
problems with.

This leaves just hardware issues to be excluded.
So to check or test is the following:

1) hard drive itself
2) the port on the motherboard
3) hard drive sata cable

Are there any other hardware suspects that i can check?
