[The Computer Hardware Technician] VAIO PCV-RS220 No sound

 

Windows XP Home
Recently formatted and installed OS
Had a virus and sound
Now the sound properties say that the drivers are all installed but there is a problem. I have tried using the onboard sound and I also tried a good working pci sound card. Same results. No yellow exclamations marks or question marks.
Speakers work on another computer.
Suggestions, please. Thanks.
I am pretty good and building, rebuilding and troubleshooting most computers. I am stumped!
