No, the fan is on demand. Otherwise it would just run the battery down
needlessly. If it is not getting hot, you have probably cleared the
blockage that was causing it to overheat.
Battery life is a separate issue. Especially now that the fan is not
running all the time. But that is not unusual. Battery technology is
still pretty primitive compared to the advances in other areas of
electronic technology over the past 50 years. We are barely past the
lead-acid battery days.
