[Simply Computers] Audio on Toshiba Laptop

 

My Toshiba laptop has a curious problem.
If I boot with the external audio cable plugged in, it's slower than molasses (15 seconds for screen updates).
However, if I boot with no external audio cable, it's normal, and THEN I can plug in the cable, and all is well.
Anyone have any ideas?
