A bit more technical detail would be helpful.
Let's talk about the marriage...What are you doing specifically? (remember
we can't see what you see.) Do you have program into which you're trying to
import the pictures? Do you receive an error message of any kind? Have you
tried a different USB cable on the off chance it's not working as it should?
Have you pulled the camera card and tried to copy from it directly (assumes
your machine supports such a move)?
You might be up against an aging camera and Windows 7.

Subject: [Simply Computers] Gateway computer problem
Okay guys and gals I have a problem that I need your help on. I own a
gateway portable computer. It is only a year old. I have a sony Super
steady shot digital camera. It is around 6 or 7 years old but still takes
fantastic pictures. I can not see to get the camera to marry up with the
computer thru the USB cord. An Icon comes up telling me the system is
ready but I get nothing to work with on the screen. The sony calls for xps
an so forth and the Gateway has windows 7. Can anyone help
Peter
