The normal free version of Malwarebytes does not offer any real time
protection--all it can do is clean up an infected machine after the
fact. They have recently started offering a 30 day trial version of the
real time protection in the hope that you will like it and continue
using it as a paid product. After the 30 day trial is up. you will
start getting that error message unless you subscribe. I don't often
urge my customers to pay for anything, but this software package is so
good I hope the designers of it are able to stay in business, and they
need paid subscribers to do so.
