I use the free Avast AV and the default Windows firewall in XP.

I want to uninstall it using the add/remove...Reboot...Then use the Norton uninstall tool...(Norton 2012 was added to 2011)...Reboot and then use CCleaner. I have used AVG free and ZoneAlarm free and also used both of the paid pro versions in the past. They do not seem to get along and the reviews I have read on AVG 2012 suggests that there are many new problems.

Zone Alarm has usually been good, but a little bloated like Norton and some anti virus will not recognize Z/A. I do not mind if I have to pay for a complete security suite, but I could use some suggestions on something besides Norton or Webroot. I know nothing about Kaspersky or Trend Micro.

My Verizon connection is 15 over 5, if this would make some difference for the need of a free or stronger paid version. Might even be going back to dial up if Verizon carries through with their threat for a 50% increase in my monthly bill. Sorry for the long email and thank all of you in advance for any help.
