Re: [Simply Computers] Re: Dell 4600 Drivers

HI,

Now if make an image backup of your hard drive then the next time you get a hankerin' to erase and reload your Windows you will have saved all these drivers, wireless setup, Windows updates etc.

It is best to keep this stored on a separate hard drive.

And if you have a program like Acronis that makes periodic backups you can go back days or weeks to a time when you didn't have whatever new problem crops in, and also preserves all your documents, emails, etc.

Go well.

I had a feeling it was a Verizon thing, that I was missing numbers or something but I wasn't sure what. I called their tech dept which I'm still surprised is 24/7 but that's a good thing. The 1st woman I spoke with had *no* idea what to do & wanted me to bring his tower into my room to hook it up to the wired connection. At that suggestion, I ended the call. I waited a bit & called back, got a different woman & explained that this was just like a brand new set up. She said click on the adapter icon....did.....asked me what it looked like.....told her. There were several blank spots...key 1....key 2....etc. I asked her....should I enter the WEP key there? She said yes. The adapter went from red to green....I asked her should I try to connect to the Internet.....yes....I tried....it did...I told

I was getting fed up, had promised I would grill chicken & so thought to myself.....let me go grill my chicken & leave this alone for a bit. During this is when the auto updates started so I let them go, installing & rebooting as we went. When that was all done 2 more of the yellow ques marks were gone....yay! The last was the video & I went back over to Dell. They had a couple of optionals...one of those was a driver & one urgent. I installed those two & was good to go.
