If you want to remove all traces of this version of Malwarebytes, download and install RevoUninstaller. Use the advanced option to remove everything.

Bill, I am certain you have downloaded the proper version. There is no
free real time protection that you can download. If you install the
free version of the scanner, which is all I ever use when cleaning a
customer's computer, you will be given the option to start the free 30
day trial of real time protection, which judging from your original
post, is what you had running originally. After the 30 day free trial,
they notify you that if you want continuing protection you will need to
pay for it. If you choose not to, your real time protection stops. But
you can still run a scan and remove all the items it finds without
paying an money.
The fact that you uninstalled it, then downloaded it and installed it
again, and immediately got asked to pay, just means they have a registry
entry that is hidden so you cannot keep uninstalling and re-installing
to get 30 days after 30 days after 30 days. When you re-install, that
registry entry triggers the request for payment immediately.
