[Simply Computers] Re: Good tutorials on Excel spreadsheets ?

I don't, but what I have found with Excel is that one often needs "hands on" training (aka someone to ask questions to)

For that, you might try your local Community Center, or Senior Center if you're old enough (you don't have to answer that)

Also, you might try a state Unemployment office, which often has free training in Business products like this.

Maybe save the photo to your computer somewhere, then open a new email and attach it?

I would copy and paste to a new email message in a new tab, or copy to a word document, if you prefer. I use Yahoo Webmail Classic in Firefox or Chrome and do this sometimes.

Hi Jerry

Why not Google for how to do a "hard reset" ?

That should put it back the way it was.

If not, please recycle responsively!

Re: [Simply Computers] Re: Trying to find my HP serial #, etc...???

Paul--
I delayed in answering to learn something new, myself. However--
I use "Belarc Advisor" to get a complete description of my computers, every
time I make a significant change (Hardware or Software) and keep a hard copy
safe.
It will give you serial numbers and model numbers, where they exist, and
records all updates and keys for installed software. Belarc maintains a
database against which your installations are compared, and lets you know of
available material. It is free for non-commercial use.
I like it.

[Simply Computers] updating hard drive issues

ImHotep,

I have an IDE drive inside my Hewlett Packard Media Center PC 800 which no
longer boots.

I bought a new 2TB Western Digital Green. I have been informed that in
order for the new drive to talk to my old PC with Vista 32bit SP2, I need to
buy a IDE TO SATA PCI CARD.

I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IF I WANT TO retrieve the data from the old IDE drive I
will need to purchase something called a 33in USB 2.0 to IDE or Serial ATA
Drive Adapter Cable.

Can you refer me to companies that sell high quality products like the two
named above?

Thank you very much.

Amen-Ra

I completely agree. Often times it's just as useful to tell a person what
exactly it is they are trying to do in the correct jargon so they can get
unstuck and search for the solution themselves.

Hi, Robert

I have read some of the other answers you have gotten on this but I am wondering if - especially in regard to the non-responsiveness issue - if hardware has been ruled out.

In the shop, I think I would be tempted to load windows on a spare, empty hard drive and test the machine out thoroughly before I reloaded Windows on top of your current installation.

And even if I decided that it was a software, not a hardware, issue - and after making an image of your original drive - I would do a Repair Reinstallation first. That may fix the problem and leave you with all your documents and programs intact.

HTH

[Simply Computers] Question about eml

When I try to forward an email with the body in eml format, how do I get rid of all the unimportant stuff that is in the eml file? ie: a friend sends me a photo that I want to forward. The eml file shows up as an attachment and when opened, besides the photo there are email addresses that I do not want to send. Thanks.....
