Some things on the desktop are created from Registry entries. Here is
a link discussing the Recycle Bin, which, like your icon, has no
Delete option when you right click it. Whatever you do, be careful in
using REGEDIT - you can File | Export any key you are working in
before you make changes to it. That way you can repair (by Import)
any damage you may accidentally do.

Scroll about half way down the page to Method 2. This hint should
lead you to the area in the Registry where your bad-boy icon is
created - you'll have to do the leg work from here.
