On my laptop [running Windows Vista] and desktop [running Windows 7],
the longest time I could achieve for my picture slides, when screen
saver is running, was 6 seconds, which was not enough to read the
wordings on each slide. By this, I mean, the time that a slide is
retained on the screen before changing to another, and not the time that
screen saver starts after computer idling.
In order to be able
to achieve a longer time [of 35 seconds and more], I had to transfer My
Pictures Slide Show from Windows XP on an old desktop PC to both my
laptop [running Widows Vista] and my desktop [running Windows 7]. This,
funny enough, is one area where an old operating system [ XP] is better
than more recent versions [Vista and W7], instead of being the other
way round.
Forum members who have contacts in Microsoft Company should please inform them to correct this issue in the coming Windows 8.
In
case I'm the one that did not know what to do to get longer time [of,
at least, 30 seconds] in Vista and W7 screen saver, I'm open to advice
from the experts.
Thanks
Felico
