Hi Mike,
I don't remember seeing your operating system in your posts, but for XP, try
this:
Date format: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Select "English
(United Kingdom)"
Keyboard: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages Tab >
Details > (change default input language or add a new language and keyboard)
For Win7: It's basically the same, except the Control Panel icon is called
Region and Language. In the Format tab, choose English (United Kingdom) from
the pull-down list. I'd check the Location tab and make sure it's correct,
too. On the Keyboards and Language tab, click the Change keyboards button.
I hope that helps. Please post back and let us know.
Ellen

Subject: [Simply Computers] Re: Keyboard
Hi all,
sorry, perhaps I did not explain myself properly. The keyboard worked fine
before the 'restore to factory defaults' (and did for a few years before
that) but, when I did the restore I inadvertantly choose the wrong keyboard
setting ( I THINK I chose the American layout [the 101 keys instead of the
102keys] in error) and was hoping that someone could point me in the
direction of how to choose to the English layout. I have loaded the disc
that came with the keyboard and checked there is not a newer driver version.
The problem, as far as I can make out with my somewhat limited knowledge, is
with the computer set up.
I have tried going into control panel and looking there but, so far, no luck
Regards Mike
