[Simply Computers] A: drive problems

 

Greetings group , I hope everyone is having the beginnings of a great new
year. Now regarding my problem, which is not something that is a great
problem,but perhaps others have had this occure.
I have and XP Dell 2400 with A: floppy drive and C: dr. with 80gb Hd and
DVD Rom drive and a cd/dvd burner as well as 150 GB ext.HD , all working
well until just recently the floppy is now telling me to format every disk
i put it it. so I pluged into a USB port an external floppy and it's
telling me the same thing ( can't read disk so format) I've tried the disks
in another computer and they read as they should, so what's going on in
this Dell ?
And another thing : I just put the external floppy in the USB port and it
made it's noise and appears in the task bar , but when I went to My
Computer it does NOT show up. I chose it from the task bar where it says to
Safely Remove Hardware and it says what it is , and when I chose the
properties, it tells me that the driver my be corrupt or missing (code 39)
so what do I do. Thanks for your imput . DCB
