[Simply Computers] Re: WinXP Sp3 desktop shows unwanted white border...

 

That's the "Desktop" toolbar.

Find a blank area on the toolbar and right click it. Click Toolbars, and click once on "Desktop" to un-check the Desktop toolbar.
