1) First reset all the cartridges you have installed
2) The contacts in the printer might need cleaning,
After removing the cartriges, unplug the printer for safety reasons
use some soft cotton swabs and some Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing
alcohol in plain english) and gently swab the contacts on the inside.
Ps allow enough time for the alcohol to evaporate, and the water, because rubbing alcohol is part water. Water and electric circuits don't mix.
If this hasn't help, or you haven't fixed the problem with other help
Drop me a line dirctly, I would need more information on the printer
to help. Later davidsStory@yahoo.com

Subject: [The Computer Hardware Technician] Printer Brother MFC-490CW
My Brother printer indicated it was out of ink so I went to Staples and purchased all new ink ($60) but after changing inks, it tells me it is out of Blue ink. All colors of the ink was replaced. What can be wrong, and can it be fixed. This printer has not had much use.
