Last month I replaced XXClone with Easeus Todo Backup Free to produce my
cloned C drive for system backup. The clone of the C drive to a
dedicated HD took 47 minutes. I was quite pleased with the results
of that operation and gave a rosy recommendation. The results weren't
so favorable this month. The first
attempt to clone the C drive aborted after a little more than 3 minutes
with a sector copy problem. I canceled the second attempt after more
than 50 minutes because it didn't seem to be making any measurable
progress according to the progress slider. I canceled the third attempt
when it seemed to be proceeding the same as the second attempt. I
decided to start over with a complete uninstall using RevoUninstaller
and a reinstall. Following about 15 minutes of that foolishness, I
tried the fourth attempt. It was successful with a 36 minute clone.
The 2+ hours spent was considerably more than XXClone would have taken
to succeed the first time. I'm no longer so readily recommending Easeus
Backup. Stay tuned for next month's evaluation.
