[Simply Computers] System Restore is not working, please help.

 

In the past I had no problems restoring my computer to an earlier
restore point.  But yesterday, during the restore procedure, the
computer shut itself probably because the electricity was shut.  After
restarting, I tried to restore it to an earlier date.  I now get a
message

"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files

and settings were not changed.

Details:

The writer experienced a transient error. If the backup process is retried,

the error may not reoccur. (0x800423F3)"

I have tried several times without success.  I googled the error but did not receive a satisfactory solution.

What can I do?    Any suggestions?
