I think Vincent is right ... the problem you're having may not be that IE is acting badly, but that you may have picked up a little malware that is making it act badly.

Using Firefox may fix the problem temporarily (or may not), but you need to make sure that your computer is clean, or else you will always have the problems, and they may get worse.
