Installing Vista's service packs can be a real pain sometimes. Really
frustrating. That's why I refuse to restore a Vista PC to factory condition.
I value my mental health. But there are different methods other than
installing it in the usual way through Windows Update.
I don't know what you've already tried. A few questions:
Did you already go to Windows Update (Start-All Programs) and search for all
available Vista updates? Then you install all the essential updates 'except'
for SP2. It's important to do this first.
Have you already tried the standalone download for Vista SP2?

Please note that there's a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version. Maybe I'm
wrong but a lot of the hits I see for error 8007371B are from people running
a 64 bit version of Windows and I see your system is 32 bit. Were you using
a standalone version or installing SP2 directly from Windows Update?
Did you already try Microsoft's Fix-it for Windows updates?

Tried the System Update Readiness tool?

If you haven't tried the standalone version yet, let me know because there
are various precautions (not listed on the Microsoft website) you have to
take beforehand that will give you a better chance of a successful
installation. Just downloading and installing it often doesn't work.
