First thing I would try is to reset the router. I would also either use WPA2
for security or I would upgrade the router. WEP is quite simply inadequate.
With the iPad, they have some problems maintaining connectivity. Take a look
at the Apple forums. I had one with lots of problems maintaining wifi but
was able to return it. I have a new one now that does better but it is more
finicky than most.

Subject: [Simply Computers] Trouble maintaining WIFI connection
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 ver 4 wireless router. I am having problems
maintaining the wireless connection with my Ipad and Ipod. Most of the time
I have to turn the router off and then back on the get it to work.
I use WEP to keep my network encrypted. If I try to use the 128 bit code I
can't get my devices to connect. The 64 bit works fine.
With the dropping of the wireles signal could it be that the router is at
the end of it's service life? I have already tried to update the firmare
when I started having these problems.
Any idea why the 128 bit encryption is giving me problems?
You suggestions are very welcome.
