I bought this fan thinking that it would provide enough offset that I could
slide in another 4gb of ram (2 x 2gb) into my wife's pc. Prior to the ram
upgrade I've had Arctic Cooling HSF which I have on all my desktops. It's a
very good HSF but it was in the way of the Corsair Dominator ram I had
purchased.

Anyway, dry-fitting the thing it seems the AMD installation (the machine has
a phenom 9950be) seems to direct the airflow to the bottom of the case. The
Arctic Cooling draws air from front to back of the case (antec sonata).
I've posted a question in the corsair cooling forums but wondered if I have
this thing correctly understood and also if I bought the wrong one.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
